Teacher of the year charged with rape, sex with student
A California teacher has been accused of raping a 16-year-old male pupil. Detectives imagine that the previous “instructor of the yr” might have sexually assaulted different victims.
Tracy Vanderhulst was arrested on Thursday evening on suspicion of getting illegal sexual activity with a 16-year-old male pupil, in line with a news release from the Yucaipa Police Division. Vanderhulst was charged with statutory rape.
Vanderhulst was booked into Central Detention Heart in San Bernardino, and her bail was set at $30,000.
The arrest was made following an investigation by detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Division’s Specialised Investigations Division – Crimes Towards Kids Element and the Yucaipa Police Division.
“Investigators and the Yucaipa Calimesa Joint Unified College District labored cooperatively to make sure a radical investigation into this matter was accomplished,” the San Bernardino’s Sheriff’s Division said.
Detectives imagine there could also be extra victims.
Vanderhulst is a 38-year-old math instructor at Yucaipa Excessive College. She was employed at the highschool in 2013, in line with a Facebook post.
